How's that for an original title? But it's how I feel today. My
About a week ago I came home to a box on my front porch. It was not a great day for me. The holidays can sometimes be a bit lonely for this single mom. BUT I cannot express how giddy I get when goodies are left on my porch. I love it. This time... Dayspring sent me some goodies to use in my home this Christmas, and I can't help but share them with you.
I've been in love with the advent calendar for quite some time now...so I was thrilled with the opportunity to review it for Dayspring's inspired deals. I've decided to be more intentional this year about making Christ alone the central focus of this holiday season. This advent calendar fits right in with that purpose. (AND it's on sale as of right now for $13.99!)
I love that my ten year old son has taken it as HIS responsibility to move the heart each day.
Here are a few of the details:
As a fantabulous bonus, they also sent these two beautiful coffee mugs...
How did they know that, since purchasing my

I love this little detailing in the bottom of the small cup.

Christmas music prepares my heart most for Christmas! I love to go to Christmas Eve services and worship too!

rkeew@aol.com I can't get it to post with out going Anonymous.
I was going to say the same thing as Kim--listening to Christian Christmas music. Funny to have to clarify that, but I mean the music that talks about the birth of Jesus, not the music talking about Santa, the reindeer, and snowmen!
I have been so sad this year, and especially this week, to see the world celebrating Christmas without Jesus. Thanks for your blog post!
Side note...I left a package on your porch today BEFORE I read this! :-)
This is my really dorky answer, sorry, but it is. This is what I think about: Many years ago I participated in a Secret Santa exchange at church. I was freaked out because I got a woman I found intimidating to gift for. Then my gifts started coming and they were weird: one day an entire box of oranges, one day a cookbook (I lived in a dorm at the time), one day a small homemade apple&orange ornament. I was a little disappointed. Well, maybe a lot. A month went by and our gifters were revealed. Mine, it turned out, had been a woman whose house had burnt down the month before. She had literally nothing to give, but thought out these lovely gifts to give me: health, self-confidence, and love. So every year this time I think of her and it makes me a little bit better of a person.
I guess the thing that really prepares my heart for Christmas is focusing on how to prepare my daughter's heart for Christmas. The things I do to remind her about the real meaning of Christmas (reading Christmas devotions the whole month of December, talking about Jesus, listening to Christmas music, giving to someone that has less than we do...) also help remind me.
