I will preface this post by telling you that its purpose is an act of procrastination.
I'm trying to wrap up my last class of this semester. In case I haven't shared recently, I'm now a part of Letourneau University's adult program. That means that I take one class at a time, all online, and within a five week time period. That's right. I cram a semester's worth of work into five weeks, but I like it. It's nice to only have to focus on one class and its topic at a time. It seemed like before when I was attending a local junior college taking four classes each semester, I would have all my tests on the same day. That's exhausting, and while this is exhausting as well, it's way more manageable.
The class I'm taking now is The Teaching of Reading, and I love it. But it's a lot of work. This is the last week, and I've got an (open book) final exam AND a flexible reading groups final project that are both due by Tuesday at midnight and another assignment to do a sample writing analysis by Sunday at midnight. Whew.
But I needed a little break. I've been pinning teaching ideas on Pinterest like a crazy fool. So fun....
Also I'm watching The Santa Clause on ABC Family with the kids.
Here are just a few of the thoughts running through my mind at this very moment:
*I'd really rather be crafting it up with some of my pins...
*I love my "Jesus" tree this year, and all of my decor for that matter. I promise that I'll post about it soon.
*Can't stop eating chocolate. It gets me through the studying.
*I really want to be through with this class, so that I can once again read for pleasure. Hunger Games books 2 & 3, here I come!
*I really want to learn to knit and sew over the Christmas break and in the new year. That might be a bit ambitious considering my goal to sleep in as much as possible, but it's still a goal. :)
Well, I guess that's it...I really should get back to work! (And not go do crafty things...I'll try to restrain myself!)
